Menu prices change often and can differ a lot from one restaurant to the next. This page explains exactly how we find, check and show the prices and calories on Menus Info, so you know how far you can trust each number.
Where our prices come from
- Official restaurant websites and ordering apps, when they show prices.
- Recent national price checks from several independent menu price sources, published in the last few months.
- Reader reports of prices seen in restaurants, used only to confirm other sources.
How we check a price
- We compare each price against at least two recent sources.
- If the sources agree, we show one price.
- If they disagree, we show a range, for example $12.49 to $13.99, so you can see the likely spread.
- If only one weak source exists, we write “About” before the price.
- If we cannot confirm a price at all, we write “Varies by location” instead of guessing.
- We ignore sources that are more than about a year old.
Why your local price may be different
- Most chains are franchised, and each owner sets local prices.
- Prices are usually higher in big cities, airports, travel plazas, stadiums and tourist areas.
- Delivery apps often charge 10% to 30% more than in-store prices, plus fees.
- Limited-time deals and app-only offers can be cheaper than the regular menu.
- Prices on our pages do not include sales tax or tips.
Where our calories come from
- First choice: the restaurant’s official nutrition guide, nutrition calculator or menu printed with calories.
- If the official guide is not available to us, we show a calorie number only when two independent sources match.
- If sources do not match, we leave the calorie cell blank.
- Calories are for the standard recipe. Sauces, sides, sizes and changes you ask for can raise or lower them.
How often we update
We recheck the most popular menus every month and update any page when we learn about a price change, a new item or a discontinued deal. The “Prices checked” date at the top of each menu page shows when it was last reviewed.
