Sonic Happy Hour still exists in 2026. It runs every day from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., and drinks and slushes are half price at participating drive-ins. The deal covers orders placed on the lot.

Sonic Happy Hour Time
The window is 2 to 4 p.m. local time, seven days a week. Sonic’s parent company, Inspire Brands, described the deal this way in an August 2025 announcement, and recent 2026 guides still list the same hours. We found no sign that the time has changed.
Some websites also list an evening happy hour, for example from 8 p.m. until close. We could not confirm that as a chain-wide Sonic deal. If your drive-in runs one, it is a local offer.
What Is Half Price
Half price applies to Sonic drinks and slushes. That means fountain drinks, slushes, limeades, Ocean Water, iced tea and lemonade at most stores. Bigger cups save more money, because half off a Route 44 is a bigger cut than half off a small.

What Is Not Included
Sonic lists several exclusions. These items are not half price:
- Mini size drinks.
- Water.
- Coffee and cold brew.
- Rechargers with Red Bull and Flavorista Favorites.
- Combos and Wacky Pack kids meals, so the drink inside stays full price.
- Orders placed through delivery apps.
Shakes and Blasts are a separate menu and are not part of Happy Hour. Extra flavors or candy mix-ins may also cost extra.
App Rules
You do not need the app to get Happy Hour on the lot. Just order between 2 and 4 p.m.
The Sonic app has its own version. In August 2025, Sonic launched Snacky Hour, with $1 snacks from 2 to 5 p.m. The lineup included a corn dog, two mozzarella sticks and a soft pretzel twist. It was a limited-time offer at participating stores while supplies lasted. We could not confirm that it is running now, so ask before you count on it.
Tips to Get the Most From Happy Hour
- Order big. A Route 44 at half price is the best value per ounce.
- Arrive before 4 p.m. The register uses the store clock, so a late order may ring up at full price.
- Order drinks on their own. A combo drink will not be discounted.
- Skip delivery. The deal is not valid with it.
- Check the receipt. Make sure the discount shows before you pay.
- Pair with the value menu. A $1.99 item and a half-price slush make a cheap snack.
Why Hours and Prices Can Differ
Most Sonic drive-ins are run by local owners. They set prices and decide which deals to run. That is why a Cherry Limeade can cost much more in one region than another.
