One note for 2026. In January, McDonald’s ran an official secret menu in the UK and Ireland, for a limited time. It had a Surf N’ Turf burger, a Chicken Cheeseburger, an Espresso Milkshake, an Apple Pie Mini McFlurry and a Big Mac sauce dipping pot. Reports said nothing about a U.S. launch, so US customers still need to use the hacks below.

Tips for Ordering a Hack
- Order the parts, not the nickname. Staff may not know the name, but they know the items.
- Use the app or kiosk. You can remove ketchup and add sauce without talking to anyone.
- Assemble it yourself. This is the easiest way to make the McChicken Double or the Land, Sea and Air.
- Avoid rush hour. Custom orders take longer when the line is long.
- Be polite. Stores can say no, and a friendly ask goes a long way.
What We Left Out
Some old hacks rely on items that are not on the current menu. We did not include them, because you could not order them as written. Hacks that need a limited-time shake, such as the McLeprechaun Shake, only work when the shake is sold. Big Mac sauce is also not sold as a separate item in the U.S., so the sauce changes above depend on the store.
Which Hack Is Best Value
The Poor Man’s Big Mac is the cheapest, since it starts at the McDouble price. the McChicken Double gives you two kinds of meat in one sandwich for about $6. The desserts are the cheapest treats, at around $4 each.
Why Hacks Can Cost Less Than You Think
Most hacks use value items. A McDouble and a McChicken are both on the low end of the menu, so the McChicken Double costs less than a Quarter Pounder with Cheese plus fries. The desserts use two cheap items to make one treat. The Land, Sea and Air is the exception, since it uses three full sandwiches, and many fans only use the patties. If you only want the taste, ask for one Filet-O-Fish and one McChicken and share the extra buns.
Breakfast Hacks and Timing
